Signature Assignment
Read the case vignette of Jose. Clearly use and apply material
presented throughout this course and do your own additional
investigation related to this case.
Apply concepts from professional sources such as online books, TUW
library, etc. to the case study. Discuss important factors related to
culture, race, gender, and religion and how it affects the presenting
issues of the client. Clearly discuss what interventions or treatment
you would provide. Include what model(s) of therapy you would use
in your therapy. You may wish to use “tools” from a number of
different theories. Reference the text in terms of why you have
chosen your particular interventions or treatment considering the
clients culture, gender, religion, race, etc.
Here is an outline of what should be included in your final paper:
I. Assessment of the case- You do not need to summarize the case
here. Give us an assessment of the issues here. What are the main
points we need to consider as the potential therapist? Is there an
ongoing theme you notice in the case here? Any interesting thoughts
or insights you gathered after reading the case? Discuss them here.
II. Diversity issues related to race, gender, culture, gender, ageism,
etc. The diversity issues that are significant in the case should also
be backed up by research. This is a very important part of your paper
throughout!
III. Mode of therapy: Individual/family/group. Be specific here about
who your client will be. Individual therapy with Jose? Family therapy?
Group therapy? Explain and support your reasoning for choosing this
mode of therapy.
IV. Law and Ethics- Discuss legal and ethical implications for this
case.
V. Treatment Plan
A. Therapeutic Relationship
B. Theoretical Model or combination of models.
C. Treatment Goals (Early, middle, and late stage goals).
Include referrals/resources you would like to give to your client (at
least 2 required).
D. Intervention (what specific methods are used)
The Signature Assignment should be (8-10) pages (double spaced,
size 12 font). Include a title page with your name, date, class name,
and the title of your paper. Paper must contain at least 4 professional
sources.
For your Signature assignment, make sure to include headings using
the outline given for the paper. The headings will help indicate that
you have covered all areas of the paper and make your paper that
much more organized.
