For this paper I had two ideas but i am struggling with what one to choose from:
1) An exploration on the effectiveness of larval therapy in comparison with standard debridement techniques in the debridement of chronic leg ulcers.
2) An exploration of the effectiveness of larval therapy in burn wounds
I am struggling as after the literature review we must do a proposal, but I haven’t found a gap in the research to rationale my proposal.
Therefore please do the easiest one or change the research question around please.
The databases that we are recommended for us to use are: CINAHL, BMJ, National institute for clinical excellence (NICE), Cochrane library
I would like my assignment to be a quantitative research design and my proposal to be a randomised control trail (RCT).
However if this is not possible I don’t mind what subject is written about.
I just really really need to pass this module.
I have attached an example essay that passed very highly last year and the module handbook that contains the assignment criteria, ad marking criteria.
The Topic
An exploration on the effectiveness of maggot debridement therapy in comparison with standard debridement techniques in the debridement of chronic leg ulcers.
My lecturer suggested that: for my proposal section I want to focus on the qualitative side. A rationale behind the proposal could be so even though this has been proven to be an effective and cost-efficient way of debridement there lacks qualitative research, what about the patient’s feelings and opinions of the patients and would patients be prepared to have maggot therapy? If so what impact might this have on the treatment’s effectiveness.
