I think that the most significant way to make a decision on something is comparing advantages and disadvantages between the options. The worst results should be considered in order to reduce possible risks before the action. If I do not have enough knowledge about the options, I would prefer to consult advisors or professionals who have ability to analyze and accommodate for the options. Sometimes, there could not been best choice to make decision and I have to take my time to think more and make clear all possibilities about choices but there could be always the pros and cons.
In my opinion, the first step to start decision making is defining problem. Identification of problem helps us to learn how the problem occurs and how we prevent all bad results in the system. If I could not learn the problem, I can not solve it. The other step should be trying all possible alternatives. If we found better results in the alternative, we can evaluate all results to make a better decision making. If we could not found a better result in alternatives, we should make some improvements which come from advisors and our knowledge. After all, there is still a risky problem, we should reach the risk analyze from other departments and never forgot that the risk is always there and the important think is how much we can manage the probability of the risk.

Top managers are generally responsible for setting the overall direction of a company and controls decisions that affects everyone from the upper level to ground level. Their decisions affect the success of the all company. Top manager at first plans the company’s objectives and find new ways to achieve it.
Organizing helps them to allocate resources and reduce waste in resource and time. Top managers organize physical, financial and human resources to achieve the company’s objectives by using them. Then, they lead their employees and motivate them to be successful. Top managers should be effective leaders and influence their employees positively. After all, controlling is a function of management that consist measuring performances and results against established objectives and goals. Top managers first recognize objectives then measure the success of actions, identify the problems and provide new corrections.
Thus, I believe that planning is the most important function in the top management role. Planning involves deciding the company’s goal and selecting steps and actions to get there. It requires top managers to forecast the possible fluctuations and variations in conditions. Successful planning makes everything better in terms of organizing, leading and controlling.
