Requirements of the assessment
The aim of this assessment is to provide you with an increased understanding of how to make a positive impact and manage your own continuing personal and professional development as you progress into graduate employment, further academic study or future entrepreneurial opportunities.
The assessment takes the form of a PebblePad Workbook to include a visioning exercise, personal SWOT exercise, personal development plan (PDP), CPD log, and four short reflective pieces. The PebblePad workbook constitutes 60% of your overall module grade for Developing Professional Impact (DPI).

The PebblePad workbook for DPI consists of a number of sections that you will need to complete (please see PebblePad).
PebblePad Submission
Submission date – the PebblePad workbook should be completed and submitted by 29 January 2021 at 11pm.
However, we expect you to be engaging in personal and professional development activity on a continuous process and reflecting regularly on your skills, knowledge and behaviours. To encourage you to do this we have set a series of interim (target) deadlines to support you to complete the workbook in a timely fashion and manage the workload accordingly. Your Academic Mentor will ask you to share your PebblePad workbook with them during scheduled 1-2-1 and small group meetings, this process will provide an opportunity for you to receive formative feedback on your PebblePad entries.
PebblePad entry (week 12) – personal development and objective setting
As in prior years it is important to be able to self-evaluate and reflect on your development to date, this will then allow you to prepare a personal development plan (PDP) for not only your final year but also your future career, study or venture. To help with this you are expected to complete the following:

PebblePad entry (week 13) – short structured critical reflection (750 words maximum)
Short critical personal reflection on your resilience and ability to adapt to changing situations and circumstances. You may wish to draw on the ways in which you have managed your studies and/or paid work or caring responsibilities during the Coronavirus pandemic, your experiences on placement or the HY2 unique opportunities in 2019/20, if this is the route you followed.
PebblePad entry (Week 19) – short structured critical reflection (500 words maximum)
Short critical personal reflection of your individual contribution to the #NBSBright groupwork challenge, including the ability to articulate your own ideas and involving and understanding others; thus, demonstrating how this contributes towards your potential for positive professional impact and development towards your future aspirations.
PebblePad entry (Week 25) – short structured critical reflection (500 words maximum)
Short critical personal reflection on ethical and responsible, sustainable business, diversity and global citizenship issues with a critical understanding of how this relates to your chosen profession or degree discipline.
Final submission of PebblePad Workbook (Week 27) which will include all the prior entries (weeks 12, 13, 19 and 25), plus:
A reflective summary of your personal and professional development throughout the course of your degree, your areas of strength and areas for future development with reference to your CPD log/evidence, personal development plan and future career ambitions (as set out in the visioning exercise) – 750 words maximum.
An updated end of year CV, LinkedIn Profile and other supporting evidence (please see your PebblePad Workbook which clearly outlines the required submissions).
Assessment Criteria
The marking criteria are weighted as follows:
The ability to plan your personal development towards your future aspirations using visioning, the force-field analysis and your personal SWOT analysis (10%).
Evidence of engagement with personal and professional development (CPD) linked to your PDP (10%).
Ability to engage in suitable self-analysis and critical reflection across your degree (45%).
Self-reflection of ethical and responsible, sustainable business, diversity and global citizenship issues with a critical understanding of how it relates to your chosen profession or degree subject (15%).
Design, authorship and presentation of your PebblePad submission and accuracy of Harvard referencing (both in text, list of references and where applicable, in other areas of PebblePad) (20%).
