LIT REVIEW MUST INCLUDE:
Section 2 – Literature Review (outlines the context for your research and key issues/debates connected to your topic area).
Have you:
•Focused on issues that are relevant to the research aims and set your research in the relevant wider context – so you contextualize your research
•Stayed sufficiently focused and kept the literature review to manageable proportions
•Successfully managed any theoretical perspectives relevant to the context of your chosen research topic
•Demonstrated the ability to explain and evaluate different theoretical perspectives, policy developments, practice issues and/or research connected to the topic area
•Demonstrated critical thought and analysis by debating the commonalities/similarities and differences between salient perspectives connected to the topic area, with suggestions for what this might mean.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
1 .Ability to initiate and undertake a substantive, educationally based research project;
2. Critical understanding of your subject area;
3. Understanding of methodology and appropriate methods for the research area and demonstration of a high degree of professional autonomy;
4. Ability to carry out field work and analyse data with minimal supervision;
5. Ability to prepare a report in good style and presentation;
6. Demonstration of critical evaluation skills relating to ethical issues associated with the research project and its methodology.
