Ask Child A to re-tell the story of the Goldilocks and the Three Bears, supporting where necessary.
Introduce Child A to the resources related to the story for today’s activity. (V) (P&E)
Discuss the resources such as bowls, beds, chairs etc. Asking questions such as ‘who does this small bed belong to?’, ‘who has the biggest bowl?’ (V) (A) (C&TC)
Begin to order the objects according to size, encouraging Child A to give explanations as to why she is organising in that particular order. (K) (AL) (C&TC)
Scaffold learning where necessary and encourage the mathematical language of size (small, medium, big, large etc.)
Praise as regular as possible.
After the activity has finished, allow Child A to explore the environment and consolidate their learning through own initiative. (P&E)
