implementation of a policy for an eating disorder screening and referral management strategy for risk level-based interventions following a stepped care approach. And track initial utilization of the SWED screens completed by campus providers and students.
Methods:
Design: The project will follow a quasi-experimental, one group, pre/post posttest design.
Number of participants: 8 (number of clinical clinicians from the PLU campus Counseling Center and Health Center.)
Intervention:
Two-part education intervention will cover:
Use of the Stanford-Washington Eating Disorders screening tool
Screening and management policy
Qualtrics survey distributed to participants:
Pre- just before the education intervention
Post- immediately following the second part of education intervention
Post-post- one month following the second part of the education intervention
Qualtrics Survey Questions:
Q1 – You can identify the policy for referring clients with suspected eating disorders for further evaluation and management.
Q2 – You understand the process for screening and referring clients with suspected eating disorders.
Q3 – You understand your role in screening and referring clients with eating disorders.
Q4 – You know what to do if you discover your client has an eating disorder.
Q5 – You know how to connect clients with eating disorders to services based on their individual level of needs.
Q6 – You feel comfortable collaborating with either the Counseling Center or Health Center on clients with eating disorders.
Q7 – Your clinical department has an eating disorder screening policy.
Q8 – You feel comfortable using and interpreting an eating disorders screening tool.
