The United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) was developed to promote the sound management of chemicals. This is an agreed upon management approach, but regulatory authorities in countries adopting the GHS will implement the system according to their own regulatory processes. After reflecting on the aspects of chemical management that the GHS system covers, describe how you believe the GHS system will affect you or others in your field as you perform your various job functions.

When certain hazardous chemicals are stored or mixed together, violent reactions can occur. Section 7 of the new GHS Safety Data Sheet includes a section describing any chemical incompatibilities. Reflect on the importance of this section and a general understanding of chemical incompatibility in the workplace.
