Thinking about the media, what role is proper in the formation of public policy? Since we depend upon the media for information, should it be controlled in some way? Should there be consequences if the media reports erroneous information? Is there such a thing as fake news?
While social media has provided many new outlets for people to share their opinion and ideas, many argue that it has created more divisiveness and a more polarized electorate. This is because people tend to frequent sites and sources that match their own political view. Liberals frequent liberal blogs and pages, while conservatives frequent conservative blogs and pages. How has social media contributed to the extremely partisan and divisive electorate that we see today?
Public policies are created by the government to solve problems that people share and can’t solve on their own, but can the government solve every problem? Should the government try to solve every problem? Do you believe in more government solutions or less government solutions?
