You will read the following case study (attached) and perform the following:
1. Briefly describe the business
2. Create a SWOT analysis of the small company described.
3. Use the VRIO (Valuable, Rare, Inimitable, and Organization) framework to prove that strengths are real and sustainable. Are they still strengths going from one market segment to another?
Answer the following questions:
1. What resources, capabilities, and core competencies are required to compete in the street food market segment?
2. What are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for Wil’s Grill?
3. How do the necessary core competencies, resources and capabilities compare between the street market segment and catering (Wil’s proposed new market)?
4. Using your analysis of the two segments in question 3, make an argument for the strategic decision John Christ should make for his business? In other words, should he expand in the current street food market segment, enter the catering market sement, or do something else? : )
