1. Discuss how your population of interest (POI) project ties into one of the four main goals of Healthy People 2020. Identify at least one topic area (out of the 42) that relates to your POI and your identified problem (there are many identified problems related to mental health, you can base your identified problem on one of the below topics) and discuss which (if any) of the objectives listed for that topic are relevant for your POI project.

I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I specialize in mental health and mental health disorders. I’m also the ADAPT (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Treatment Program) Medical Director, so I also specialize in patients who suffer from substance abuse disorders. I mainly see adults.   My population of interest would be mental health patients. One topic area that relates to my POI is the mental health and mental health disorders (please go to the links provided by the instructor and follow the instructions to find the information).  Out of all the objectives listed on the page I felt like these 4 were the most relevant to me. 2. Discuss the actual and potential impact of the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act (i.e., the ACA) on our profession and advanced practice nursing; and on the health of your POI. Describe how the proposals to replace or overturn the ACA compare to the ACA. Also discuss the potential effects of these proposed changes on the health of your POI. I have provided the readings.
