Assessment Brief
Assessment title What makes an entrepreneur? Purpose of this assessment In these three tasks students are expected to demonstrate the knowledge, understanding and creative analysis on the topic of entrepreneurship. The understanding of the role and importance of small firms to the economy and social enterprise to the social economy should also be demonstrated. Students will show the level of their ability to analyse real-life entrepreneurial activities and come to meaningful conclusions linked to Learning Outcomes. Scenario for Task 1 You are a student in Year 1 and you are keen to develop your entrepreneurial skills. Your lecturer has asked you to review what it means to be an entrepreneur and to assess the different types of entrepreneurial ventures you can possibly consider for your future career. You are to develop a PPT presentation with speaker notes, and during the week of the 3rd of June 2019 you are to present it in class as a group. 10 minutes will be allocated for each presentation, plus 5 minutes for questions. You are required to make effective use of PowerPoint headings and subsections as appropriate. You should make use of engaging presentation styles and content delivery methods (possibly including video, audio and images), as well as demonstrate public speaking skills. You will then have to submit this presentation with the speaker notes to a Turnitin link. The presentation slides and speaker notes should be submitted as one file. However, it wasn’t easy. “It was difficult to track down an innovative manufacturer who could deal with the specific requirements of sourcing organic…” Investigate Croft-Simon’s activities and achievements.
