My Notes:
This paper is for a “Museums Meanings and Functions” class. Therefore, some of the things that could be answered are such things as listed below, or any situation that may have been overlooked. Since the university is in Arizona, I would avoid writing about the ones in that state if possible.
• Brief explanations of what are pop-up museum exhibitions and art immersion exhibitions? What are their functions and view (curator and audience)?
• Why are they popular and sometimes preferred over traditional museum exhibitions?
• Can they complete with tradition museums with cutting edge technology such as matching the viewer’s face with a cultural art piece, or simulate the context in which the object was found or used?
• Are these new types of museums educational or simply meant to give the audience an interactive experience, for both old and young visitors?
• What about social distancing? Since they do not have an historical and retrievable static archive, how are these types of museums adjusting or trying to remain relative to visitors?

In a three-page research paper, discuss a current museum issue. What challenges and opportunities do it represent? You should include specific examples. Your bibliography must have a minimum of three sources.
Current Issues: these can include but are not limited to museums in the time of COVID 19; the rise of the pop-up exhibition space

1. Use Chicago Style and double space papers
2. Papers should be thoroughly and thoughtfully researched and should be accompanied by footnotes and bibliography. PLAGIARISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
3. Many good scholarly articles are available through JSTOR
4. Dictionary and encyclopedia resources such as Oxford Art Online are good sources for bibliography but should not be cited in your list of sources.
