Ethics refers to moral principles that governs a person’s behavior or the conducting of an activity. Ethical standards are principles that when followed promote values such as trust, good behavior, fairness and kindness. Some of the ethical standards that come to mind in this case standards such as respect .Here the accused person has no respect for the minor. He sexually abuses a girl who is below eighteen years which is also child abuse. There is also concern for others. In this case the friends mother was concerned that the client who was the daughter to her a friend was being sexually abused and that’s why she disclosed it to the clients mother. There is also informed consent. In this case the mother was well informed that her daughter was being sexually abused and that’s why she reported. This information was from a reliable source. Confidentiality also comes into mind in that the client’s friend was not confidential since she disclosed the information to her mother. Again the mother to client’s friend disclosed the information to the client’s mother too hence upholding no confidentiality. Accountability too comes to mind too since In this case the client was accountable because she was a drug addict and again she wore sexy and seductive clothes .If I were to handle this case I would question both the accused and the client so as to acquire information from both sides and the judge. i would also take the client and accused to counseling and reinforce the message the she is not at fault and that it is natural to feel angry and ashamed. Counseling would be important would be important because records that have been kept by the providers of counseling maybe a requirement to disclose the fact that counseling has taken place, particularly if detail of the alleged offending is raised. I would also assess the credibility of child abuse allegation for instance circumstances of the suspect. It is important for me to have regard to the context and circumstances in which the offending is alleged to have taken place, as this will determine how the evidential case should be built and what are relevant lines of inquiry. I would make sure there is an early consultation between the police and the both client’s side and accused side. i would also check on the reaction or rather the behavior of the client and accused.
