Requirements for the Discussion Post:
The topic of our forum for Week 2 will focus on alternative/complementary therapies.
This will include supplements, herbal medicines, and other alternative therapies for the older adult client.
You can select an herb that is used or not already discussed in
your textbook, such as one of the herbs tested in the ATI pharmacology book. Please ensure your discussion forum applies to the older adult.******Very important!!!!
In your discussion must answer the questions below:
1. Discuss the herb contents and how it is used as a supplement. What disorders is the herb used to treat?
2. Discuss the benefits and risk and side effects of the herb or supplement.
3. Discuss how the herb is used by older adults.
4. Discuss some of the contraindications or education considerations when educating clients on the use of herbs with coexisting medications.
Your post should include material researched from credible online or library sources. The content must be supported by evidence based literature. You must cite your work and credible sources. The structure of the post should include an introduction, body, and conclusion.
The grading rubric provides instructions on how the discussion post will be graded so please follow the grading rubric. DO NOT USE conversation style to write your assignment. The discussion should be composed using professional APA format. Use APA for in-text and reference citations.
