“You need to do a paper based on a provable premise. You can explore the conventions of an artistic movement we cover in class, or the influences on that movement. You could look at a play we’ve read and explore its themes. You can take a data-based approach looking at word usage, the history of major productions of it, or how the play has been adapted. You could also look at the production techniques or a designer. You have a great deal of freedom, but it must be based on a provable premise. This is not an opinion paper. I expect the paper to be seven to ten pages.” – professor’s prompt
