How has the Pacific Northwest been effected by homelessness, what our elected officials are doing to help the problem of homelessness, what the community is doing, and what the community can do better.

2-4 newspaper and/or long-form sources
2-4 professional, trade, and/or governmental sources
This paper needs to start out answering the question, ” what cities in the United States have been the most effected by homelessness”?
Then the paper needs to zone in on the Pacific Northwest, and the rest off the paper should only be about the Pacific Northwest. The Pacific Northwest includes Washington State, Oregon,Idaho, and sometimes Montana and Wyoming. I would also like a big portion of this essay to talk about the city of Seattle in Washington state.
Some questions that can be answered in this research can be:
How has the Pacific Northwest been effected by homelessness, what our elected officials are doing to help the problem of homelessness, what the community is doing, and what the community can do better.
Research on how mental illness and substance abuse is a factor with homeless people.
Research on housing alternatives for homeless, and substance abuse treatment…which should come first, housing or treatment?
Logical, evidence-based, and situated within existing literature (i.e. research)
Conclude by making a compelling case for the topic (homelessness in the Pacific Northwest) and argument’s significance.
