NUR 735Q: Population Health in Advanced Nursing Practice
Guidelines for Timed Discussions
As noted on the Topical Outline, there are assigned discussion questions for selected modules. These questions are given at the end of each module introduction, and also are posted under the Discussion Board section in Canvas. Faculty will be monitoring the discussions and will moderate, answers questions, and provide additional information as appropriate.
Note discussions for modules 1, 2, and 3 will be graded.
Format for Discussions:
1. Post your initial discussion entry for the given module before the date indicated.
2. Read the entries from your classmates.
3. Post responses to at least 1 other posting before the date indicated.
4. Remember to include appropriate citations (in APA format) in your initial post and responses.
Please remember and follow the rules of “Netiquette.” Your responses should be constructive and demonstrate consideration of other students’ position statements. Remember, with text-only messages, there are no non-verbal behaviors or cues to help the reader judge intent.
Caution: Keep HIPAA guidelines in mind if sharing clinical experiences. Do not include protected information regarding patients or clients in your examples. Also, please do not identify your workplace.
Evaluation:
The three (3) graded discussions are a required course activity. All students are expected to participate. These discussion postings count as 20% of your final grade. This percentage will be allocated based on participation, and on the quality of responses (initial post to question and required number of responses) as detailed on the rubric for each discussion.
Note: The discussion board will close and no posts or replies can be submitted after the deadline.
