Under reporting of Rape due to its Stigma.

It is a Research Proposal for grade only. It has Four Sections. Please use journal articles and statistical information from trusted websites.

Topic of the paper: Rape/sexual assault is under reported because of stigma attached to the reporting, one of the reason with stigma  is victim blaming and victim shaming. So, in this paper the long-term goal is to increase reporting of the rape/sexual assault incidences and keep educating and spreading awareness about the facts related to rape, like consent and other stuff (policy changes, laws in the community). So, the paper/research should be along the lines of: when people do report rape, only very little percent is incarcerated, and want to see if it is due to/(correlated/one of the reason) unawareness about the rape/sexual assault facts. For example, defendant’s lawyer’s job is to find the defendant not guilty and would bring up any points and humiliate and blame the victim. One of the is whether the victim had been drinking alcohol or was drunk. If the jury was educated and was not aware of the fact that if the victim is under the influence of alcohol, they cannot consent to sex, then it is considered rape. If this fact is left out, then jury might blame the victim and might find the defendant not guilty. So, study in which we can test if people are made aware of this one thing then if they blame the defendant or not. And bind this into the importance of education and awareness among the community who then serve a very important role by being in a jury to find a potential perpetrator guilt or not guilty. The perpetrator might walk out free and commit more sexual assault again and might dehumanize other women.

Section 4: Analysis

1-2 Pages: Analyze the study and expected data (because the study is not being conducted in real life). Do not be bias. Also, interpret and describe the significance of the expected findings in light of what was already known about the research problem being investigated, and to explain any new understanding or insights about the problem after you’ve taken the findings into consideration. It  connects to the introduction by way of the research questions or hypotheses you posed and the literature you reviewed, but it does not simply repeat or rearrange the introduction; the discussion should always explain how your study has moved the reader’s understanding of the research problem forward from where you left them at the end of the introduction.
