1. Congressional Benefits Research: The United States of America is divided into districts. Where ever you live, you have a congressman/woman who is assigned to your district. Your congressional representative has the power to legislate on your behalf, including the benefits you and your family receives. Citizens have the right to vote for or against people running for congress.
Your assignment is to locate the name and party of your congressman and research the benefits received by your congressman. You will outline your findings on their benefits and compare them with the benefits received by you, your parents, or someone else you chose to interview. Write a one-page report and be prepared to discuss your findings in class along with whether you believe the benefits congress receives is fair? The GOP has consistently argued against the Obamacare and in 2017 nearly ended the program without a replacement which may have caused some citizens to lose their coverage. Given the benefits received by Congress what is your opinion on this action?
