Covid-19 brought changes to the healthcare system and as a provider one more be ready to adapt to it. The coronavirus crisis and the collective rapid response to the emergent of patient needs have proven to be the greater need of the use of telepsychiatry services in todays world.

Telepsychiatry is it here to stay or not due to all the regulatory issues put in place prior to the covid-19 pandemic. This particular article is relevant to the of interest in that, as a Nurse Practitioner one must be familiar with the regulatory system put in place. Be in tune with what will be beneficial in your practice as a healthcare provider.

Peer review is a scholarly form of review for journal articles. The article is usually sent to an academic journal and the editor sends it to other peer reviewers, usually fellow scholars in the same field as the author for evaluation. The article is reviewed for bias or flaws before it may be accepted or rejected or requires rewrite from the author. (Walden University, n.d). In completing my research assignment, I ensure it’s a topic related to my professional practice and focused on my specialty of interest. As a student of PMHNP, I examined what is currently affecting or will be impacting practicing in this field and decided to find related topics “Telepsychiatry”. (Dexter, 2020). No one expected the sudden shift in attitudes about the use of technology over the years, and I certainly did not predict how an unfathomable pandemic would thrust a new reality upon us in which technology serves as the primary tool for delivery of population mental health care. (Ben-Zeev, D, 2020).
Walden library is a great resource of finding peer-reviewed article. In finding related article to “Telepsychiatry”, I clicked on the database which generated different discipline to choose from. I picked the Behavioral health and to make sure I find a peer-reviewed article, under the tab database, I make sure I choose peer-reviewed. It narrowed the database down to three related to my area of practice: SAGE Journal, ScienceDirect, and Taylor and Francis Online. I used SAGE Journal in finding my peer-reviewed article on COVID-19 and telepsychiatry: Early outpatient experiences and implications for the future. (Chen, J.A, et.al, 2020).
There are two main different strategies I found useful in finding peer-reviewed research. The two main online database I find useful are ScienceDirect and ProQuest. ScienceDirect database is useful when searching for psychiatric peer-reviewed full-text articles. Also, I will use ProQuest database during my academic period for peer- reviewed work. The advantage of using ProQuest is because one can find information on healthcare industry. ProQuest provides evidence-based services that significantly help nurse workflows and also enhance patient care. Such a database is also an essential source of useful publications used because they provide sufficient information.
In the future, I intend to continually use SAGE Journal and ScienceDirect database as a PMHNP, the database it’s directly related to Behavioral health. These database form considerable sources for valuable articles that can be used for research and my other academic work because they provide scholarly and peer-reviewed sources.
